Euxton Villa added another three points to their league tally with a 2-1 win against AFC Blackpool. 

Goals from Dan Singleton and George Davies early in the first half allowed Villa to come back from a goal behind and secure the win in wind affected conditions. 

Villa didn’t have the start they anticipated, Blackpool taking the lead early on from a header in the box off the back of a corner taken. 

But in the fifth minute, Singy was able to tap the ball into the back of the net; after Joel Darley’s flick on set him up perfectly to do so. 

The equaliser ignited determination from Villa; allowing them to create more chances to take the lead. 

And, in the 19th minute, Villa did just that. 

Blackpool’s ‘keeper had possession of the ball, and Davies took him on in the box to steal away the ball- to then slot it behind him after taking his time to make the shot. 

Villa were unlucky to not score again later on in the half, Darley hitting the crossbar after an excellent run down the wing from Vaughn Green allowing him to play the ball in. 

The second half saw a variety of changes to the Villa side, strengthening the midfield and attack to try break down Blackpool’s defence. 

They were resilient, but whilst no more goals were to come Villa’s defensive line and Oli Lombard all played their part to deny a relentless Blackpool front line. 

The full-time whistle blew with another three points going to Villa; taking them up to fourth in league standings. 

Man of the match went to substitute Ben Pendlebury, who spent 45 minutes controlling the midfield and providing a great performance.
